What roofing in Krum actually involves.
Krum was a farming town that has grown quickly, and the housing splits cleanly into two groups. There are the original farmhouses and older homes in and around the town centre, many of them on larger lots with outbuildings, and then there are the tract subdivisions built from the 2000s onward as families moved out for Krum ISD and the acreage. The newer houses are closely spaced and uniformly roofed, which means when a hail or wind event crosses a street there, it tends to hit every house on it in much the same way.
The exposure is a real factor here, not a line of marketing. Out here there are no tree lines or terrain breaking up a wind-driven storm the way there are in parts of Denton, so edges, ridges and the first few courses of shingle take more punishment over time. Practically, that means ridge and edge detail is where we spend extra attention on a Krum roof, and it means a roof out here can look fine from the street while the windward slope has lost granule across most of its face. We get on the roof before we quote anything, because that is the only way to know.
The farms and acreage properties bring metal work along with the roofing. Barns, loafing sheds, equipment shelters and shop buildings all need roofing too, and metal is usually the right answer on them. A property with a house and three outbuildings is a normal Krum job, and quoting the whole property at once usually comes out cheaper for you.
Because so many of the newer houses went up at the same time to the same spec, a Krum street often shares a roof age and a roof problem. That has a practical upside when a storm does come through, since a neighborhood where several claims have been assessed for the same event gives an adjuster useful context for yours. It also has a downside, which is that uniform neighborhoods attract crews working door to door after any weather. Scott will give you a written assessment of what your roof actually needs whether or not it turns into a job for us.
On HOAs: The newer subdivisions generally have an HOA. Older in-town lots and acreage properties mostly do not.
